Teacher's Day!!
Hi, people! It's here again! An update! And now, we're talking about Teacher's Day celebration yesterday! WHOA! It was lots of fun! People who were absent, you've really missed out on all the fun. So, now, we're gonna tell you all about it!
Well, we went to school as usual, with all the prayings and stuff, and then, it's show time! We started off with a speech from the head student, our respected Sharvin, followed by some 'kompang' playing while the monitors, assistants or representatives were hiding somewhere near the 'koperasi', preparing to give the teachers presents bought by the prefects of our school (yeah, and we had to empty our pockets to do so).
And then, it was time for the representatives to present the presents to the teachers!! I went out, feeling lost as I couldn't find our teacher, Cikgu Shahzehan. But atlas, I found her!(I'm sounding like I found a lost person, lol). Straightaway, I went to my place in 2 M's row of line.
It's about time the performers hit it off!! A group of students went on stage, and performed, and boy, were they good!! Rather, it was great! And the next performance is....*drumroll* INDIAN DANCE!! The girl, who went solo, was MAGNIFICENT! Bravo! A bold, ecstatic, flexible and graceful performance by her alone managed to captivate everyone!
Followed by the next performance, the modern dance!! *cheers* This performance was performed by three of our fellow classmates, Sanjiyven, Kugendran, Pavitri and Kok Xiao Ran as well as Lew Chi Wei. The music they used was really in the zone, and it just makes you feel like dancing to the beat. And the moves, WOW, creative, with a mixture of hip-hop, pop and modern style which grabbed everyone's attention!
And then, it was the choral speaking! Though it was quite soft, but it was still good overall. Their attractive ideas got the camera flashing! And then there's the band, who was performed by Ming Ern, as the guitarist, Lester, as drummer, Alvin(is that his name?), singer and lead singer, Yeen Theng. The guy singer was soft but the lead was LOUD. Everyone enjoyed the performance, with Lester, who ended flawlessly!
And the best part of it all, the elections of characters in the "zaman kesultanan melayu"!! The teachers they chose were suitable with their characteristics and they came up onstage, escorted by prefects under a yellow-golden umbrella, showing off their costumes. Everyone was psyched when the teachers' names were announced. The lucky draw was up next, and teachers got presents when they have the same number as our pengetua got. And to top it all, the celebration blasted off when they have a short game of futsal between teachers and students. The students were enthralled with the tight competition between teachers and students. It was an exciting and thrilling moment.
And I guess this is it for Teacher's Day celebration. All in all, we enjoyed ourselves, the teachers enjoyed themselves and we all look forward to next year's celebration, when the time comes. So, now, everyone, just relax and enjoy your holidays!!
Peace out.

WELCOME
Welcome to the 2 Meranti Blog, Magnificent 36. Yeah! blog, the hottest thing to hit pop culture since Jennifer Anniston's Friends haircut.
Here, the 36 students of the 2 Meranti class ( Class of 2008 ) offer their thoughts on happenings in school and off school. It's a great way to keep up-to-date.
In the beginning, blogging was relegated to techie types or ubergeeks but now blogging has become one of the biggest, fastest-growing trends around. We mean big. Bigger than Paris Hilton's sunglasses - and that is BIG. So fellow Merantians...your thoughts and views are welcome here.
But before we get the ball rolling, some ground rules:-
1. No vulgarities;
2. No political views;
3. No religious views;
4. No dissing the school, teachers, friends or foes alike.
Please note that each student is responsible for his/her own blog entry/posting. Anonymous blog entries/postings will be rejected. Blog entries/postings can either be in Bahasa Malaysia or English but do remember to keep your postings blog friendly.
The administrators of this blog i.e. Choong Pauline, Gwen Lee, Lee Yu Kit and Sara Wong reserve the right to change, edit posts as and when deemed fit.
