WELCOME

Welcome to the 2 Meranti Blog, Magnificent 36. Yeah! blog, the hottest thing to hit pop culture since Jennifer Anniston's Friends haircut.

Here, the 36 students of the 2 Meranti class ( Class of 2008 ) offer their thoughts on happenings in school and off school. It's a great way to keep up-to-date.

In the beginning, blogging was relegated to techie types or ubergeeks but now blogging has become one of the biggest, fastest-growing trends around. We mean big. Bigger than Paris Hilton's sunglasses - and that is BIG. So fellow Merantians...your thoughts and views are welcome here.

But before we get the ball rolling, some ground rules:-

1. No vulgarities;
2. No political views;
3. No religious views;
4. No dissing the school, teachers, friends or foes alike.

Please note that each student is responsible for his/her own blog entry/posting. Anonymous blog entries/postings will be rejected. Blog entries/postings can either be in Bahasa Malaysia or English but do remember to keep your postings blog friendly.

The administrators of this blog i.e. Choong Pauline, Gwen Lee, Lee Yu Kit and Sara Wong reserve the right to change, edit posts as and when deemed fit.

Peace out.

Cross-country run/ Merentas Desa

Hiya everyone! Long time no see! (wait, can I see you? NOPE). Well, I'll just go straight to the main topic. It's our school's cross-country run! or you may call it Merentas Desa. Well, I think you all know what is cross-country. You DO, don't you?

I think almost everyone came, if I'm not wrong. Well, we started the day with lining up according to our house, and then with the dancing kind of um....warm up. It was entertaining, yeah! Entertaining!

After the ENTERTAINING warm up dance (however you call it), the girls started the run first. The girls gathered and it was crowded with....girls. And with the "PIN" sound, we started running. After a while, everyone was tired, and started jogging, and then walking, and talking, and laughing, and...and...that's it. By the end of the race (girls), everyone was exhausted, sweating profusely and trying hard to carry their feet to the dataran and drop to the floor. *faints* Then, they got their feet back up and head straight for the canteen, drooling and saying, "FOOD! WATER!". They bought drinks and food. Looks like the sellers are earning much! And they were all energetic again, like a battery completely charged. And, you know girls, started chitty chatty again.

Well, as for the boys, they started off running, competing against one another. Some boys were quick and even surpassed the girls!!! AMAZING!But, this somehow put the girls to shame, eh? Well, they are BOYS, right? Well, they finished the race but somehow, still have the energy to walk around and talk and compare with their friends and to eat and drink until their tummies bulge out.

Everyone crowded at the canteen and after some time, the teachers started kicking them out of the canteen. Everyone then assembled according to their houses at the Dataran Bestari, and the cheerleaders of the school wow-ed everyone with stunts that seem impossible for any normal human can do. There were applauds and cheering and whoots from everyone! Then it's the prize giving!! The names of students who got the first top 20 got medals as well as the teachers! Everyone was happy with their achievements. Our class, Sanjiyven, apparently was one of the top twenty's! Yays to Sanjiyven!

Well, the celebration rounded off with games while majority of the students were busy taking pictures with their friends and and some were reading and chatting and sleeping on one another, waiting, and waiting, and waiting to go home. And then, everyone went home and it's bye bye time! So, yea everyone, TOODLES!

Peace out,

Under the Meranti tree,
Choong Pauline
