WELCOME

Welcome to the 2 Meranti Blog, Magnificent 36. Yeah! blog, the hottest thing to hit pop culture since Jennifer Anniston's Friends haircut.

Here, the 36 students of the 2 Meranti class ( Class of 2008 ) offer their thoughts on happenings in school and off school. It's a great way to keep up-to-date.

In the beginning, blogging was relegated to techie types or ubergeeks but now blogging has become one of the biggest, fastest-growing trends around. We mean big. Bigger than Paris Hilton's sunglasses - and that is BIG. So fellow Merantians...your thoughts and views are welcome here.

But before we get the ball rolling, some ground rules:-

1. No vulgarities;
2. No political views;
3. No religious views;
4. No dissing the school, teachers, friends or foes alike.

Please note that each student is responsible for his/her own blog entry/posting. Anonymous blog entries/postings will be rejected. Blog entries/postings can either be in Bahasa Malaysia or English but do remember to keep your postings blog friendly.

The administrators of this blog i.e. Choong Pauline, Gwen Lee, Lee Yu Kit and Sara Wong reserve the right to change, edit posts as and when deemed fit.

Peace out.

Under the Meranti Tree,

Sara Wong,
Enlightened ( or maybe not )...

INTRODUCTION - MAGNIFICENT MERANTIANS

We are a group of typical teenagers from different background, race and religion. We are noisy, loud, obnoxious, sassy, brilliant ( hopefully ), insightful ( maybe ) and overbearing to the core ( sometimes ). We are still trying to find our footing and bearing on this huge spinning ball we call Earth, despite being here for 14 years. 14 years, as we all know equal to 70 dog years, since we're all born in the year of the DOG ( chinese zodiac ), we have learned to live like dogs. We're gonna party like, like it's 2011!

Wow, gosh, it's been like what? 3 whole friggin' years since any one of the admins has posted something on this blog? Tsk tsk, what good admins we have, eh?

Oh well, then I guess it's up to this admin to show em how it's done =D

Shoo, dust bunnies! Yeah, go on and retreat to your little burrows.

Now, without scrolling all the way down till the very end, try guessing which admin posted this =D

Yes that was a mini challenge, take it if you will, ignore it if you're a pussy/chicken/homo coward.

.

Anyway,

Hey, how's everyone been? 3 years is one heck of a long time. Even longer than Merlin's beard, if he ever had one, that is.

Ok now don't tell me you don't know who Merlin is. How about King Arthur? Knights of the oblong round table?

Okay then, bad referrance. 3 years is longer than 2 periods of Add Maths! Aha! Now that's something we can all relate to, yes?

There's no doubt that form 5/being 17 is undoubtedly without a doubt one of the most hectic stages in a teenager’s life.

Most of us even start reminiscing like old farts about the good old days, back in form 2, which was when this ol’ blog was created for that blog competition that we won, hands down. Yup, we beat those other crummy classes with our resplendent and splendorous command of language (thanks to the admins) as well as our blog-fashion sense and choice of colours and pictures (kudos to Sara, Gwen and Pauline).

Oh don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about the contribution our other classmates had…contributed (couldn’t really think of a more suitable word. ‘Given/Provided’ doesn’t really seem that nice)…for this blog.

Everyone contributed by just being plain magnificent in their own way =)

Yes, all we had to worry about at that time was “makan, what to do after school and also which girl/guy was interested in which other guy/girl”, as quoted by one particular Merantian whose real name will not be revealed until later on in this post, otherwise it’d be a pretty large hint for ya if you’re still pondering on which devious admin decided to bask this blog in such glorious light by updating. And btw, that last part about the guy/girl thing was added on by yours truly.

Let’s travel back to a time when the spouting of each other’s parents’ names was considered a social norm and yet we’d all still get ticked off about it.

A time when JB meant Jonas Brothers and not Justin Biever (yes that was done on purpose). And also when the name ‘Rebecca’ didn’t end with the colour black.

A time when Friday automatically brought up the letters "T.G.I.F." rather than the lyrics "Friday~Friday~Gotta get down on Friday".

A time when motorbike riders, aka Mat Rempits roamed the streets instead of bicycle riding pixies, I mean Fixies.

A time when Mishah was still our principal and Shukri was still a nice guy. Back when none of us were prefects and we were all seen as individuals rather than distinguished by class, rank or even relationship status.

It’s because I cherish those moments that I decided to rekindle our class spirit by reigniting the dwindling flame we have in each of us, the flame of the Magnificent 36.

Contrary to popular belief, lingering in the past will not necessarily cause you to forgo the future, as many philosophers seem to claim. Instead, reaching into the past and realizing our mistakes and proud moments will undoubtedly aid us in our journey towards the future.

And so with that, with the power bestowed upon me as an admin of this blog, I officially commence the Re-opening ceremony for this blog.

*Snip!* (sound of the cutting of the ribbon that usually symbolises the beginning of something)

Welcome, magnificent.blogspot.com, to the year 2011!

P.S. tune in to the next post by me for a blast from the past.

P.S.S. someone needs to fix that ImageShack slideshow.

P.S.S.S. do not fret, I haven’t forgotten to reveal who posted this, slumber la sikit….it’s…the person below Kugendran a/l PONNIAH in the name list.

P.S.S.S.S. btw, the hotmail account for this blog has, somehow, been suspended. So if anyone still needs help from Mr. Agony, you're welcome to send your problems in the form of emails to lifeisboringx@gmail.com, addressed to Mr. Agony. Seriously, if you've got a problem, tell it to someone, I'm not saying it'll solve said problem, but it'll help you get another person's point of view.

P.S.S.S.S.S. please leave a comment after reading, it'll give me a sign that this blog isn't as dead as it appears to be =D

Peace out. (Wow, I miss this)

Under the Meranti Tree, (I miss this even more!)

Cik Shahzehan!

Naww, just kidding.

En. Khairi!

“Bwahahaha, now you’ll ALL get suspended!”

Not.

Mr. Wobbly! “Wobble wobble”

I bet you don’t know who that is…do you?

Okay, seriously this time.

Peace out.

Under the Meranti Tree,

Yu Kit
