WELCOME

Welcome to the 2 Meranti Blog, Magnificent 36. Yeah! blog, the hottest thing to hit pop culture since Jennifer Anniston's Friends haircut.

Here, the 36 students of the 2 Meranti class ( Class of 2008 ) offer their thoughts on happenings in school and off school. It's a great way to keep up-to-date.

In the beginning, blogging was relegated to techie types or ubergeeks but now blogging has become one of the biggest, fastest-growing trends around. We mean big. Bigger than Paris Hilton's sunglasses - and that is BIG. So fellow Merantians...your thoughts and views are welcome here.

But before we get the ball rolling, some ground rules:-

1. No vulgarities;
2. No political views;
3. No religious views;
4. No dissing the school, teachers, friends or foes alike.

Please note that each student is responsible for his/her own blog entry/posting. Anonymous blog entries/postings will be rejected. Blog entries/postings can either be in Bahasa Malaysia or English but do remember to keep your postings blog friendly.

The administrators of this blog i.e. Choong Pauline, Gwen Lee, Lee Yu Kit and Sara Wong reserve the right to change, edit posts as and when deemed fit.

Peace out.

Anyways, The holidays are HHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEE! I bet EVERYONE must've put the same slogan in THEIR blogs, right? I mean, what's there not to like about holidays???

The good stuff!
1)Spending the whole day doing ABSOLUTELY nothing! Why? Cuz we CAN, got it?
2)Getting up at 7 pm and sleeping at 6 am!! Whoa...we're owls! I've always liked owls! Did you know that owls have the most-.........I could talk about 'em forever.
3)Games!

8)Games Games and MORE Games!!! Normally I'm banned from the computer and my oh-so-lovely-I-would-do-anything-just-to-hold-you-once-again ps2! But the holidays have brought us so much closer together!

The BAD stuff!
1)We're getting pretty lonely, aren't we? No friends....(except for my lovely ps2 of course)
2)That's it!

I'm gonna end it now, got a date with my ps2, can't keep her waiting, can I? Ciao, suckas!

P.S. I wanna watch WALL-E
P.P.S. Did I tell you that the holidays are all about games? No? Well, the holidays are all about games!
P.P.P.S. nothing...i just like adding those "P"s

Cross-country run/ Merentas Desa

Hiya everyone! Long time no see! (wait, can I see you? NOPE). Well, I'll just go straight to the main topic. It's our school's cross-country run! or you may call it Merentas Desa. Well, I think you all know what is cross-country. You DO, don't you?

I think almost everyone came, if I'm not wrong. Well, we started the day with lining up according to our house, and then with the dancing kind of um....warm up. It was entertaining, yeah! Entertaining!

After the ENTERTAINING warm up dance (however you call it), the girls started the run first. The girls gathered and it was crowded with....girls. And with the "PIN" sound, we started running. After a while, everyone was tired, and started jogging, and then walking, and talking, and laughing, and...and...that's it. By the end of the race (girls), everyone was exhausted, sweating profusely and trying hard to carry their feet to the dataran and drop to the floor. *faints* Then, they got their feet back up and head straight for the canteen, drooling and saying, "FOOD! WATER!". They bought drinks and food. Looks like the sellers are earning much! And they were all energetic again, like a battery completely charged. And, you know girls, started chitty chatty again.

Well, as for the boys, they started off running, competing against one another. Some boys were quick and even surpassed the girls!!! AMAZING!But, this somehow put the girls to shame, eh? Well, they are BOYS, right? Well, they finished the race but somehow, still have the energy to walk around and talk and compare with their friends and to eat and drink until their tummies bulge out.

Everyone crowded at the canteen and after some time, the teachers started kicking them out of the canteen. Everyone then assembled according to their houses at the Dataran Bestari, and the cheerleaders of the school wow-ed everyone with stunts that seem impossible for any normal human can do. There were applauds and cheering and whoots from everyone! Then it's the prize giving!! The names of students who got the first top 20 got medals as well as the teachers! Everyone was happy with their achievements. Our class, Sanjiyven, apparently was one of the top twenty's! Yays to Sanjiyven!

Well, the celebration rounded off with games while majority of the students were busy taking pictures with their friends and and some were reading and chatting and sleeping on one another, waiting, and waiting, and waiting to go home. And then, everyone went home and it's bye bye time! So, yea everyone, TOODLES!

Peace out,

Father's Day

Yo, folks! It's father's day! So, everybody, what have you given to your old man? Presents? What kind of presents? The usual stuff: pen; wallet; cards; etc. Haih. Seems like it's never ending isn't it? First, it's Mother's Day, then, Father's Day, then, Someone's birthday, then, Merdeka day, then.....it REALLY is never ending..It just goes on and on and on and back again. Well, the pockets are all emptied as well, you know, to buy stuff for parents.

Our exams are over! HOORAY! BUT (why do we always have buts!?), and yeah, now is the time to worry about exam results! All of us are anxious to know, all of them did their best, but who knows what will happen in this class? After all, this class is the so called "smartest" in our form, whereas 2 Keruing is just as "smart", so we have many challenges and competition and obstacles awaiting us. and FUN too!

Well, I guess that's all for this post. We'll post soon, as we haven't been posting for a long, long time. Adios!

Peace out.

First Question

Dear Mr. Agony,

I like a guy. Lets call him A. He doesn't even seem to know I exist. I do everything I can think of to get his attention but to no avail.Unfortunately, he has set his sight on another girl. I am so jealous, its killing me. Then there's guy B. He worships the ground I walk on but the sight of him repulses me. HELP!!!!How do I get guy A to like me and get B off my back!!!

From:
A girl who seriously needs help =(

Dear girl,

So this A doesn't even seem to notice you? You know he likes someone else too. Aren't those good enough reasons to FIND ANOTHER GUY?!?! If you can't get him it's best to just go for someone else, he can't be THAT amazing, right? Or maybe you should try telling him you like him, or get a friend to help you ask. This would best be done right in front of the other girl he admires, that should pay her back for making A like her, as we all know revenge is sweet ...

Now for B. So this guy is lame, but have you ever thought he might be having the exact same problems like you? Perhaps the way you look at A and the way he looks at you are the same. If that's the case, you should know how he feels like. Give the dude a chance, or just tell him off if you really really really really REALLY can't stand him.

Hope this helps...if it doesn't I'm always ready to receive a beating.

Ideas

Most teenagers are suffering from what we call "pressure". In reality, this ain't as terrible as it sounds. Our "pressure" is caused by "love problems", most of the time. Then there are the REAL problems, such as family break-ups, bad influences and so on and so forth. Perhaps we need some kind of online counselling, for example a "Mr. Agony" thing (idea given by the one and only GENIUS girl-Sara).

For those who don't know what "Mr. Agony" is for, it's some kind of counselling thingy. All you have to do is type something like-"Dear Mr. Agony, My friends hate me because they think I'm a mouse, actually I think I'm more like a tiger, please help me!" And after a while, this mysterious, cool, problem-solving weirdo named Mr. Agony will reply and help you with your problems. Is this cool, or is this COOL?!

All your problems can be solved while just sitting in front of your computer screen! Holy cow! that's even better than getting free ice-cream!(personally I would prefer the ice-cream). So, whoever agrees on this can comment and reply. This helps YOU, this benefits YOU, YOUR problems are solved, YOUR worries are over!

P.S. Payment should be settled after service

just kidding XD

War out.

Above the Meranti Bush,

Mr. Agony

Teacher's Day!!

Hi, people! It's here again! An update! And now, we're talking about Teacher's Day celebration yesterday! WHOA! It was lots of fun! People who were absent, you've really missed out on all the fun. So, now, we're gonna tell you all about it!

Well, we went to school as usual, with all the prayings and stuff, and then, it's show time! We started off with a speech from the head student, our respected Sharvin, followed by some 'kompang' playing while the monitors, assistants or representatives were hiding somewhere near the 'koperasi', preparing to give the teachers presents bought by the prefects of our school (yeah, and we had to empty our pockets to do so).

And then, it was time for the representatives to present the presents to the teachers!! I went out, feeling lost as I couldn't find our teacher, Cikgu Shahzehan. But atlas, I found her!(I'm sounding like I found a lost person, lol). Straightaway, I went to my place in 2 M's row of line.

It's about time the performers hit it off!! A group of students went on stage, and performed, and boy, were they good!! Rather, it was great! And the next performance is....*drumroll* INDIAN DANCE!! The girl, who went solo, was MAGNIFICENT! Bravo! A bold, ecstatic, flexible and graceful performance by her alone managed to captivate everyone!

Followed by the next performance, the modern dance!! *cheers* This performance was performed by three of our fellow classmates, Sanjiyven, Kugendran, Pavitri and Kok Xiao Ran as well as Lew Chi Wei. The music they used was really in the zone, and it just makes you feel like dancing to the beat. And the moves, WOW, creative, with a mixture of hip-hop, pop and modern style which grabbed everyone's attention!

And then, it was the choral speaking! Though it was quite soft, but it was still good overall. Their attractive ideas got the camera flashing! And then there's the band, who was performed by Ming Ern, as the guitarist, Lester, as drummer, Alvin(is that his name?), singer and lead singer, Yeen Theng. The guy singer was soft but the lead was LOUD. Everyone enjoyed the performance, with Lester, who ended flawlessly!

And the best part of it all, the elections of characters in the "zaman kesultanan melayu"!! The teachers they chose were suitable with their characteristics and they came up onstage, escorted by prefects under a yellow-golden umbrella, showing off their costumes. Everyone was psyched when the teachers' names were announced. The lucky draw was up next, and teachers got presents when they have the same number as our pengetua got. And to top it all, the celebration blasted off when they have a short game of futsal between teachers and students. The students were enthralled with the tight competition between teachers and students. It was an exciting and thrilling moment.

And I guess this is it for Teacher's Day celebration. All in all, we enjoyed ourselves, the teachers enjoyed themselves and we all look forward to next year's celebration, when the time comes. So, now, everyone, just relax and enjoy your holidays!!

Peace out.

Academic Month

Hi, you all! Here I am again, updating on this blog! *cheers* Yesterday was the last day of school, and we were celebrating the closing of "Academic Month". The winners were given prizes and guess what? I THINK that OUR class got the most prizes! We've got many students who got prizes! Aren't we all proud? YEAH WE ARE!! Okay, now back to the main topic.

Well, we all came to school as usual, with the prayings and then we lined up, I(as the monitor) have to take attendance, and then we hit it off with the program. They announced the names of the winners first, which includes my name and the rest. At first we were confused, but we just ignored it.

Then, it was time to take the presents!! Of course, Wan Jiun, Sara and me got first for the arts competition!! WOOHOO!! Unfortunately, I, as the monitor *groans* have to go up on stage and get the present. Then, followed by LEE YU KIT, who won the public speaking competition!! *cheers* Peter Woo, got third for singing competition! Let's hear him sing! Me, Pauline, who won the crossword puzzle contest, *groans* I have to go up on stage again! Wan Jiun and Ee Ching who placed first and third for calligraphy contest! *applauds* talented girls! Sanjiyven, who won too!! And finally, our pride and joy, we got FIRST for this blog's contest with big contribution from Sara Wong, Gwen Lee, Sin Mun, Yu Kit and myself! *BIG applause* BUT, *sighs and mumbles something inaudible* I, (as the so-called monitor) has to go up on stage, AGAIN (three times in total, I counted).

All in all, we were very proud and satisfied of our achievements. Now, we're looking forward towards the next achievement, our test results! *screams in horror*

Well, here are pictures of students who went onstage!! Enjoy! (well, there's nothing to enjoy actually, because the pictures are blur).
