Teacher's Day!!
Hi, people! It's here again! An update! And now, we're talking about Teacher's Day celebration yesterday! WHOA! It was lots of fun! People who were absent, you've really missed out on all the fun. So, now, we're gonna tell you all about it!
Well, we went to school as usual, with all the prayings and stuff, and then, it's show time! We started off with a speech from the head student, our respected Sharvin, followed by some 'kompang' playing while the monitors, assistants or representatives were hiding somewhere near the 'koperasi', preparing to give the teachers presents bought by the prefects of our school (yeah, and we had to empty our pockets to do so).
And then, it was time for the representatives to present the presents to the teachers!! I went out, feeling lost as I couldn't find our teacher, Cikgu Shahzehan. But atlas, I found her!(I'm sounding like I found a lost person, lol). Straightaway, I went to my place in 2 M's row of line.
It's about time the performers hit it off!! A group of students went on stage, and performed, and boy, were they good!! Rather, it was great! And the next performance is....*drumroll* INDIAN DANCE!! The girl, who went solo, was MAGNIFICENT! Bravo! A bold, ecstatic, flexible and graceful performance by her alone managed to captivate everyone!
Followed by the next performance, the modern dance!! *cheers* This performance was performed by three of our fellow classmates, Sanjiyven, Kugendran, Pavitri and Kok Xiao Ran as well as Lew Chi Wei. The music they used was really in the zone, and it just makes you feel like dancing to the beat. And the moves, WOW, creative, with a mixture of hip-hop, pop and modern style which grabbed everyone's attention!
And then, it was the choral speaking! Though it was quite soft, but it was still good overall. Their attractive ideas got the camera flashing! And then there's the band, who was performed by Ming Ern, as the guitarist, Lester, as drummer, Alvin(is that his name?), singer and lead singer, Yeen Theng. The guy singer was soft but the lead was LOUD. Everyone enjoyed the performance, with Lester, who ended flawlessly!
And the best part of it all, the elections of characters in the "zaman kesultanan melayu"!! The teachers they chose were suitable with their characteristics and they came up onstage, escorted by prefects under a yellow-golden umbrella, showing off their costumes. Everyone was psyched when the teachers' names were announced. The lucky draw was up next, and teachers got presents when they have the same number as our pengetua got. And to top it all, the celebration blasted off when they have a short game of futsal between teachers and students. The students were enthralled with the tight competition between teachers and students. It was an exciting and thrilling moment.
And I guess this is it for Teacher's Day celebration. All in all, we enjoyed ourselves, the teachers enjoyed themselves and we all look forward to next year's celebration, when the time comes. So, now, everyone, just relax and enjoy your holidays!!
Peace out.
Under the Meranti tree,
Choong Pauline

Welcome to the 2 Meranti Blog, Magnificent 36. Yeah! blog, the hottest thing to hit pop culture since Jennifer Anniston's Friends haircut.
Here, the 36 students of the 2 Meranti class ( Class of 2008 ) offer their thoughts on happenings in school and off school. It's a great way to keep up-to-date.

But before we get the ball rolling, some ground rules:-
1. No vulgarities;
2. No political views;
3. No religious views;
4. No dissing the school, teachers, friends or foes alike.
Please note that each student is responsible for his/her own blog entry/posting. Anonymous blog entries/postings will be rejected. Blog entries/postings can either be in Bahasa Malaysia or English but do remember to keep your postings blog friendly.

Academic Month
Hi, you all! Here I am again, updating on this blog! *cheers* Yesterday was the last day of school, and we were celebrating the closing of "Academic Month". The winners were given prizes and guess what? I THINK that OUR class got the most prizes! We've got many students who got prizes! Aren't we all proud? YEAH WE ARE!! Okay, now back to the main topic.
Well, we all came to school as usual, with the prayings and then we lined up, I(as the monitor) have to take attendance, and then we hit it off with the program. They announced the names of the winners first, which includes my name and the rest. At first we were confused, but we just ignored it.
Then, it was time to take the presents!! Of course, Wan Jiun, Sara and me got first for the arts competition!! WOOHOO!! Unfortunately, I, as the monitor *groans* have to go up on stage and get the present. Then, followed by LEE YU KIT, who won the public speaking competition!! *cheers* Peter Woo, got third for singing competition! Let's hear him sing! Me, Pauline, who won the crossword puzzle contest, *groans* I have to go up on stage again! Wan Jiun and Ee Ching who placed first and third for calligraphy contest! *applauds* talented girls! Sanjiyven, who won too!! And finally, our pride and joy, we got FIRST for this blog's contest with big contribution from Sara Wong, Gwen Lee, Sin Mun, Yu Kit and myself! *BIG applause* BUT, *sighs and mumbles something inaudible* I, (as the so-called monitor) has to go up on stage, AGAIN (three times in total, I counted).
All in all, we were very proud and satisfied of our achievements. Now, we're looking forward towards the next achievement, our test results! *screams in horror*
Well, here are pictures of students who went onstage!! Enjoy! (well, there's nothing to enjoy actually, because the pictures are blur).

Exams over!! Merdeka!
Yo, people! So how have you all been doing? As for us, we have just finished our oh-so-horrible-and-I-wanna-die-from-studying midterms! And as of yesterday, we're officially free!! WOOHOO!! And the best part is, holidays are starting soon!! Holidays, where you can relax, stay up late and wake up whenever you want in the morning (or rather, afternoon). Well, now that we're off the hook, we're free to do whatever we want, right?
That includes 24/7 sticking your face to the computer, am I right everyone? Well, to tell you the truth, before and during the exam periods, we were suffering, like going to the bottom of the pits of hell. Everyday, we were just sticking our nose in our books, like nerds! Wait, we ARE nerds, right?
I've got nothing to say left, except, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
Everyone enjoy your school holiday while it lasts!! *groans* aww man!! School's reopening in two weeks! That's fast!
Peace out.

Mother's Day
Hello again our dear fans! This is the second post of the day. (The same day as the previous post.)
People, people.. Mother's Day is this Sunday!! gosh.. Time just passes by so fast! In a few more weeks, the Teacher's day will be held as well as Father's day!
However, have you gotten anything for your mothers yet? Well, I have to admit though.. I and my fellow friends haven't got anything for them yet.. Do you have any suggestions for us? Please say you do.. Lol..
Fortunately, we do have some suggestions.. BUT...... It is rather lame.. Below is the list of suggestions we have.. Which is quite common..
-Flowers
-Card
-Cake
-Perfume
-Accesories
-Jewelleries
-etc. etc.
So, if any of our dear viewers have any suggestions, please comment on this post.. Or else.. Please feel free to post it in our Cbox! I guess this is all.. And before we end.. We just want to say to all of you..
Treasure your mothers as much as you love your favourite things and also thank them for every scoldings and lectures you get from them as they do it for your own good! Bear that in mind folks! lol..
And below is also a poem for our dear mothers entitled....
'Before I Was Myself, You Made Me, Me'
Before I was myself you made me, me
With love and patience, discipline and tears,
Then bit by bit stepped back to set me free,
Allowing me to sail upon my sea,
Though well within the headlands of your fears.
Before I was myself you made me, me
With dreams enough of what I was to be
And hopes that would be sculpted by the years,
Then bit by bit stepped back to set me free,
Relinquishing your powers gradually
To let me shape myself among my peers.
Before I was myself you made me, me,
And being good and wise, you gracefully
As dancers when the last sweet cadence nears
Bit by bit stepped back to set me free.
For love inspires learning naturally:
The mind assents to what the heart reveres.
And so it was through love you made me, me
By slowly stepping back to set me free.
THANK YOU MOM, WE LOVE YOU!! xoxoxo.
Peace out.

Choong Pauline and Gwen.

Brainteaser #1
It's been a long time since anyone post an entry so I'll be posting something to keep this blog going on. I'll be giving all of you something to think about, something like (iq, riddles, puzzles etc.) and if you have the answers, you could tell me in person or you could just mention it in the chatbox. I'll give out the answers in few days time. Anyone can answer it, old or young, ugly or beautiful, anyone...(note to administrator, if you don't allow this to be here or don't think it's suitable to be posted, you can delete it). Here goes the first one:-
Brainteaser #1
Die without me,
Never thank me,
Walk right through me,
Sometimes feel me,
Sometimes hear me,
Yet never speaking and never seen
Who am I?
Time's out. The answer is "air"
Think carefully.
The answer is logical so don't give me the answer, there's no answer.
Peace out.

2 M Monkeys
Hello people! I'm the monitor of the class, and now, you'll get to know more about the monkeys of 2 Meranti! Now, monke- uh, I mean, members, if you read this, and feel offended, please contact the admins. You may call this number: 999 or 911. Thank you. And before I forget, people who are getting ready to read this, please be aware (wear your specs or something) before your eyeballs pop out reading this post. Shh!! The movie's starting. Ready. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1
Adlene Izzarina – This girl can be crazy at times. A confident person who loves taking part in camps. Tough and strong.Amy Amira – She's crazy sometimes, a sweet sponsor (yum yum! Tomorrow bring more!). A very fair person and a smart girl.
Benjamin Goh Sheng An – Our class’s AJK perabot. He’s a dedicated who always ask people what they think of him ( Yeah, he wants to change for the better). He’s a helpful guy, who cherishes friends VERY MUCH. He’s a drum OBSESSED who sacrifices his poor fingers just to play “drum” at the edge of his desk in school (the poor desk as well). But, he has the I-don’t-care attitude sometimes.
Chan Sin Mun – This blog’s photographer. A typical fierce girl who has a prejudice against boys. Nevertheless, a good and helpful friend (to girls only). Also, a math genius who scored almost perfect everytime. She’s got insanely amazing strength that can beat you up into a pulp. ( just joking, but the strength part is true)
Choong Pauline – Hi! I’m the forced-to-be-monitor of the class (Apparently, I was betrayed by my fellow friends). I’m just your normal, average and nothing but ordinary girl. Just being fourteen, but I tend to act childish and crazy when my mood goes wild. A lazy one, I might add, one who’s too lazy to finish up her work. Yeah, that’s me. That’s all I’m gonna say.
Chow Jin Jun – A quiet person at first glance, but when you try talking to him, he can be quite talkative. He can be loud sometimes, and a Chinese genius (sheesh, another smartee pants). Apparently, he has just found his long lost brother, Khai Shen (go to 2C and find out) and these brothers have reunited in the Moral class.
Chua Phin Liang – A naïve boy with a sense of humour. He’s a bit blur at times, but he’s a bright student. He is also friendly and always does things voluntarily. One of our class’s jokers. All said, he’s a good boy.
Gwen Lee Sook Mun – One of this blog’s administrator as well as our class’s English representative VERY caring and kind-hearted person. She has many friends, as well as secret admirers! *sly grin* One who laughs a lot and has a sense of responsibility. But, DO NOT get on her nerves! She’ll give you a cold stare, and you’ll receive a frightening glare *screams*
Hidaya binti Ibrahim Shah =D– BM's representative. A beautiful and typical Malay girl (she makes people jealous). Smart and cheerful, though her temper tend to get the best of her sometimes. A serious and thoughtful person, who knows when to have fun and when to get serious.
Keith Yong Ming-Sheng – This is a quiet one in school, but on messenger online, he’s VERY chatty. He doesn’t really communicate with others ( he’s too shy to mix with them). Also known as the “Mapleking” ( in case you don’t know what is Maple, it’s an online game). Personally, my younger brother admires him.
Kugendran a/l Ponniah – History's representative. A SUPERBLY hilarious guy (look at his face and you’ll know). A good actor, as he was awarded the BEST ACTOR in 2M. He shot to fame when he started acting in the role-play titled “Penunggu Pusaka” (yeah, you guessed right, the boring Komsas drama) and yeah, you should probably know it, he’s a lazy guy and gets bullied by people a LOT. Poor guy, isn’t he??
Lee Yu Kit – The” Nilam” representative. He is a regular bookworm , an avid reader and has an amazing flair for words. He is a BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT ( to the power of infinity and beyond ) writer. He is constantly cleaning his glasses and changing his hairstyle. He is a competitive swimmer and is a perfect delinquent ( so he says).
Leong Su Ling – a shy person who’s conscientious and diligent, though she usually sticks with Wen Rhu in school. A timid girl (and that makes her cute and chubby!). A talkative person but only with close friends. (like I said, she’s shy and timid)
Lim Tiong Chin – a guy who is insanely tall. Like, VERY TALL, and thin (like a stick). A guy who has rumors with Gan Joe Yee(again, a 2 K member). He may be helpful, and a diligent guy(he always does his homework) but, he is VERY loud and may sometimes be impolite. Well, at least he’s a good guy.
Lim Wen Rhu – A person with a smiley face everytime you see her (who knows, she might even be smiling when she sleeps) that makes her SO lovely that you can’t resist to hug her. But, a shy (aww, CUTE!) and reserved person.
Loh Yi Yong – This guy’s the Moral representative. Currently, he has many fans chasing after him. *whistles* He’s a good listener and chatterbox (which literally meant that he’s friendly). He’s also known for being lazy.
Looi Kar Mun – This girl is VERY smart, friendly, tidy, pretty, confident, etc. what more could you want? (she makes people jealous). An almost PERFECT person as well as a PERFECTIONIST. BUT, *snickers* she’s a bit too authoritative sometimes (now, people, be careful!)
Mahnoj a/l Kandasamy – A chess genius (OOH!! How many geniuses are there!?). A quiet and reserved person. A shyyyyyyy boyyyyyyy. A smiling boy boy, showing off his shining teeth whenever he smiles.
Mariah Hanna – A girlish girl who is very intimate with girls (she hugs me a lot). Sometimes a little childish when she gets out of control and can be a little irritating, but always an open-minded person. She skips school a lot too (now, now, please don’t be a naughty girl and play truant).
Syazwan – a VERY CUTE and CHUBBY person that makes you want to pinch his cheeks everytime (I’m trying my best to aim at his cheek). And guy who loves to crack jokes, but he’s a little dependant sometimes.
Nazzura – This girl is kind and friendly and a real good friend. Though she has some problems with her temper sometimes and a judgmental person, she’s a positively cheerful person with a smile on her face everyday. (like this: =) ).
Ng Ming Yang – also known as: MIANG. The class’s assistant monitor (though he’s not happy with it) and Science representative. VERY responsible, friendly, out-going and a jovial guy. He loves making jokes, but he DISLIKES people nagging/ babbling at him. People say he does the monitor’s dirty work, but all he actually does is handing in the class control book.
Ng Xian Hui – The secretary of the class. Being ambitious and brave, she makes a certain people green with envy. She volunteers a LOT (sometimes, too much, but sometimes it’s a good thing). She’s an anime OBSESSED (she can go on for a few hours, I don’t know, maybe even 24/7). A talkative person when she’s with close friends. But, she gets annoyed easily, so people, watch out!
Nur Aqilah binti Norsham – A silent and demure girl. She communicates better with close friends and a concerned person who helps a lot. All she needs is to open up a little more, let people get to know her more and you’ll want to be her close friend!
Norhaslily bt. Shamri – An easy-going girl who makes friends easily (Go on, talk with her =)) Also, a good-natured and considerate person but is a little not willing to share sometimes. All said, she’s a good friend who helps you when you need her. As people say, “a friend in need is a friend indeed”.
Ong Su Ling – This girl’s is cute! She is quiet, sweet, demure and listen to her voice, it’s so SWEET! A friendly and hardworking girl, as well as supportive. But sometimes, she’s too timid and shy. And, she often misses school! (she makes the monitor mad sometimes)
Pavitri a/p Apparavoo – WHOA! This girl’s multi-talented. Not only is she good in dancing, but also in singing! She’s a natural Broadway talent, just the one you’re looking for! (I’m promoting her =) ) A good friend and a confident person, she’s a whole different person on stage. She’s and active person in school as well, like participating in storytelling, reciting poem etc. In short, she’s a natural.
Raja Zal Hazmi bin Raja Zahar Shah – This guys’ a supportive guy who’s loyal to his friends (a rare quality nowadays). However, *sigh* sadly, like all boys, he likes to tease people (especially fathers’ names)and this, of course, makes people feel exasperated. But he’s one who accepts you as you are as well as a forgiving person.
Sanjiyven a/l Alfred Joseph – a SUPERBLY, ULTIMATELY comical guy. A good actor as well, though not as good as Kugendran. Also known as San by his friends. All in all, he’s quite similar to Kugendran. He’s currently paired up with Eng Jia-Yi, from 2 Jati (if you don’t know, search for 2 Jati). A bright guy, though he’s lazy and he loves himself more than anyone except Jia-Yi.
Sara Wong Li Wen – 2 M’s treasurer. She’s keeping all the money. This girl’s almost PERFECT. Smart, pretty, tall, slim, diligent, responsible, (sheesh, why are there so many almost PERFECT people nowadays). She ALWAYS calls herself a procrastinator, which is SO wrong. Although, she may be OVER sensitive sometimes. So, those people out there, remember to THINK before you say anything! (just kidding)
Sim Ee Ching – Another math genius (ugh, I hate geniuses), and out-going person, though she may be shy and calm around people she’s not close with. Her funny and amiable attitude that makes her well-liked by everyone, you can't NOT just dislike her.
Sofiah binti Thameem Ansari – Our class’s Geography representative. One who LOVES chocolate a lot (but why is she so thin?correction: OMG! Look at her size! It's 58, 44, 59). She may look timid and shy, but she can be quite aggressive at times (when she’s mad!). So people, watch out, try not to anger her!!
Stephanie Lee Su Ching – ANOTHER smartie pants (why are there so many geniuses in our class!?). A happy-go-lucky person, but can get moody fast sometimes. A sociable person who can talk with you, listen to your problems and an obligated person. One who likes to laugh a lot, just like Gwen (and also, she has a perverted mind).
Tan Wan Jiun – Our class’s head of cleanliness and decorations. She decorates our class VERY creatively ( come and look at our class if you want). Talented in arts that makes her so artsy. Good-natured, hard-working, kind and positive. In short, she’s a goody-goody two shoes.
Teo Kar Leong – This guy is another chess genius who represents the school. He may be annoying sometimes, but deep inside we all know that he’s a good person. He’s a naughty person in his elementary times, but, of course, he matures and advance throughout his high school life (so now, he’s a grown up. Well, sort of).
Woo Theng Hong – nickname: Peter. A guy with a sense of humour. A strict and capable prefect-to-be. He volunteers a LOT (now, is that a good thing or a bad thing??). A natural poet, serious when doing his work, but sometimes gets too carried away. A guy with soft cheeks (pinch his cheek and you’ll know). This guy’s a little hasty and impatient. Bear with him.
Notice to everyone. Please make sure that your eyeballs have not popped out. We don't want the theater to get dirty or some people screaming their hearts off until another pair of eyeballs pop out. Thank you.
Peace out.
Under the Meranti Tree,
Choong Pauline.
